Tremendous find for baseball historians in this diverse series of 27 baseball-themed postcards dating from the early 1900s. Many have been used, with beautiful flowing fountain pen writing and original stamps with postmarks. Highlights include: 1-2) Variations from 1906 Chicago White Sox-Cubs World Series; big upset win for White Sox. 2) 1907 Cubs celebrating WS win over Tigers. 3) 1908 featuring Teddy Roosevelt and William Howard Taft. 4) WWI era with Uncle Sam ready to hit a pitch from Kaiser Wilhelm. 5-6) Interesting 1907 pair featuring Tigers and Cubs; each features a team mascot in a casket after having been "Clubbed to Death," obviously intended to be used depending on who won. 8) Humorous card showing a fan's reaction over the course of a nine-inning game. 9) 1909 Series featuring Honus Wagner. 10-11) Pair of highly desirable Cracker Jack Bears cards. And so many more wonderful pieces. Fun and fascinating, a great lot all-around.
