Amazing content in this original negative relating to "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, perhaps the most controversial figure from the notorious 1919 "Black Sox" scandal as debate continues to this day regarding whether Joe actually participated in throwing the World Series. Great 8x10" image of Jackson with the Cleveland Indians posed while fielding a ball comes with a vintage print that was created from this negative probably in the 1930s. The negative is much rarer than a photo of the image although we can say that we never had a photo of this image either, taken by a Brown Brothers. photographer. Interestingly, "Jackson" is actually included on the image portion of the negative but as the photo displays, it can easily be cropped out (in fact, the very edge of the final "N" is visible at the left border). Very difficult to find negatives from this era in any condition, and the contents make this a historic prize. EX condition and still fine for making prints.
