Tim McAuliffe classic New York Yankees hat is size 7 1/8, navy blue with the iconic interlocking NY embroidered in white on the front panels and shows heavy use throughout including some appropriate minor cracking in the tan leather headband. Mick's number 7 is written under the bill in thick black marker, and the Hall of Famer also autographed it in 1990, per the enclosed Letter of Provenance. All of the above is verified in a detailed MEARS authentication letter, citing manufacturers style, tagging, and size consistent with Mantle's use during the 1968 season - the last of his 18 years in Pinstripes. Originates from Delbert Mickel and according to the letter, this cap was given to a friend of the scout who signed Mantle, also noting that he had it signed in 1990.
