Hobby fresh and comes from the Generation T Collection of over 1,300 tobacco cards. These were graded by SGC in 2006 and have not seen the light of day since. Our consignor inherited this collection that started with his grandfather in the early 1900s. A great collection of 1909-11 T206 tobacco cards, 32 cards total, all graded by SGC and all with Tolstoi backs. An offering like as this is rare and unusual - Tolstoi is a scarce back, maybe not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but definitely scarcer than most other T206 advertising backs. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC, with the condition report as follows: (2) VG/EX 50: Bergen (catching), Camnitz (hands above head). (4) VG 40: Bell (pitching follow thru), Herzog (Boston), Marquard (HOF, follow through), Schulte (back view). (4) GOOD 30: Clymer, Gray, Seymour (portrait), Tannehill (Tannehill on front). (7) FAIR 20: Abbaticchio (blue sleeves), Bergen (catching), Krause (pitching), Needham, Payne, Perring, Stovall (batting). (15) POOR 10: Arellanes, Barbeau, Bergen (catching), Brashear, Chance (2; HOF, yellow, batting), Gaspar, Grimshaw, Maddox, Marquard (HOF, portrait), Oldring (batting), Randall, Schlei, Stanage, Wiltse (portrait, with cap). The equivalent SMR value (NOT including a premium for the Tolstoi back) is $1000+.
