Vintage classic uniform - jersey and pants - game worn by Spud Davis during his Pittsburgh Pirates tenure, circa 1946. Heavy wool set shows some use but remains in splendid condition with some minor stains. The zip-front, road gray jersey has "Pittsburgh" individually sewn in felt letters across the chest, with MacGregor Goldsmith size 46, and "Davis 36" tagging in collar. The rear bears that number 36, also in felt, with red and blue piping on both the jersey and pants. The zip fly pants show nice use with some dirt stains and a similar "Davis 36" tag in waistband. Topping it all off, Davis' autograph adorns both pieces nicely in black marker. The Pirates changed to their now-familiar black and yellow color scheme in 1955 after having used blue and red since the franchise's inception in 1909.
